Japan - Niigata Prefecture- Sado Island - Ogi

We left Ine and did an overnight sail to Sado Island. Sado Island is Japan’s second largest island after the island of Okinawa.

She is paddling a tarai bune. Originally made from large barrels to store products such as miso paste, the tarai bune can reach narrow spots along the rocky coast, they were used for gathering seaweed, turban shells and abalone.
