We left Okinawa and did an overnight sail to Amami Oshima. We pulled into a very tight and difficult wall tie, on the way in we had to deal with winds, current, shallow water and a bridge. We had to make two attempts on our approach, I was pretty worried. We were a little too close to the bridge, I started to taste metal in my mouth. Gary as usual was calm and precise with his maneuvering. I was fortunately able to lasso the bollard with our line without jumping off onto the dock to quickly secure us to shore. The town was small, quaint and not very populated. We had a nice meal out and took off north the next day to sail to the northern port and capital of the island, Naze.
